Sex and Revolution in Cuba

Sex and Revolution in Cuba is a photo essay documenting the gay community in this country for three years.

After coming to power of Raul Castro in February 2008, on the island begins a series of economic and social changes. One of the biggest changes is that the regime announces new policies related to sensitization sexual diversity and gender identity and who leads Mariela Castro Espi (Raul Castro’s daughter), and director of the National Center for Sexual Education Cuba. Some people think that these changes are a simple strategy of political marketing on Human Rights.

This photo essay is an intimate portrait of reality and everyday life of homosexuals in Cuba, from different socioeconomic classes, through a thorough investigation on the impact that these social policies have had on the LGBTI community.
