Nuria López Torres, Barcelona (Spain).
She studied for three years at the Institute of Photographic Studies of Catalonia and later a master’s degree in photojournalism at the School of Graphic IDEP Barcelona.
Documentary photographer. Focuses her work on issues related to women, gender, identity and sexuality. It addresses issues from social anthropology converting some of their work on photo essays. Combine her personal projects as freelance collaboration in national and international media, photographic events in curating and teaching photography in specialized centers.
She is a member of the organization of photographers, writers and journalists PHOTOWORDS GEA, and curator scholarship “Seen in Barcelona” documentary photography. Nuria is author of the book “Sex and Revolution in Cuba”
Her work has been exhibited at the America Museum in Madrid, London Photo Festival, WhiteBox Gallery en Kuala Lumpur, Malasia, MAC Museum Ibirapuera, Sao Paulo (Brazil), Spain Cultural Center, Lima (Peru), Rojas Cultural Center, Buenos Aires (Argentina), Spanish Cooperation Center, Antigua (Guatemala), Academia San Carlos, Mexico DF, Hardcore Art Gallery, Miami (USA), Cultural Center of Spain, Asuncion (Paraguay), Caja Madrid, Barcelona and Circles of Bellas Artes in Madrid among other. Photography Award in II International Festival of Audiovisual Arts of Andalusia. With work in America Museum, Isonomía Foundation University Jaume I of Castellón and Visible Foundation for Contemporary Art.
Her works has been published in Zazpika, El Periódico, Lonely Planet, El País, Le Monde, The Guardian, Interviú,The Caravan, Terra Mater, CNN among others.
